the seventh album from music industry veterans radiohead, in rainbows, has made quite the stir. the album had a completely digital release through the website www.inrainbows.com. although the band refuses to announce the amount of albums sold or the average price, it is estimated to have been purchased approximately 1.2 million times.

angels, demons, and tom hanks

 

dan browns insta-classic the da vinci code, now a popular movie, has brought on the attention of another hit. angels and demons, the book that first brings robert langdon into the literary world, is to be coming to the silver screen. announced for a december 19th 2008 release from columbia pictures, it has been announced that the film is in pre-production and should reach it’s date. akiva goldman, screenwriter of the film, is working hard to finish before the big writers strike starting november 1st. tom hanks is returning as langdon, rumored to have the highest paying salary for an actor…ever.

now we have time to bond

so daniel craig, the star role of james bond in the 2006 casino royale, is confirmed for the untitled bond film coming next november. harry sloan, president of mgm, has confirmed craig for a total of five movies.

OiNK, one of the biggest and most popular illegal music torrent sites on the internet, has finally been shut down. police in middlesbrough, the base of operations for the site, shut it down in a low key operation earlier this morning.

on a personal note, i am very saddened by the event, but i know more torrent sites will appear.

new smash bros stage; penis doodles abound

okay, so there won’t actually be any penis doodles, but there is a new stage for upcoming nintedo wii title super smash brothers brawl. the new level is the pictochat level, designed and based on the chatroom-esque feature of the ds. some screens, along with the one ordaining this post, have been released and they can be viewed here. wii channel music is also available on this stage of the game.

making remakes is but childs play to hollywood

david kirschner isn’t exactly a name you throw around when you speak of horror movies. with films like martian child and miss potter under his belt, you wouldn’t expect him to be the main contender for director of the child’s play remake. child’s play was brought into the world with kirschner, the producer behind the first four films in the series, and it now looks like he is ready to expand. the horror franchise famous for introducing chucky to the world is ready for a revamp, “going back and remaking the first one and even pushing it further and making a very terrifying version of the first one, which is pretty scary as it is,” according to kirschner. don mancini, the screenwriter of every child’s play installment thus far, is ready to write the new one as well. no release date is known but an animatronic doll has been confirmed in place of cg animations.
